What We Do
National Days
We often gather to celebrate National Days, like Republic Day (29 October), Childrens' Day (23 April), or Youth Day (May 19). As students away from home, these are opportunities for us to celebrate, and share emotions with those in the same position as us.

Turkey Talks
Turkey Talks is the KCL Turkish Society's initiative to introduce Turkey, and leading Turkish figures, targeting the stigma around the 'Turkish identity'. We host academics, historians, journalists, and politicians regularly, and hope to make this a tradition at KCL Turkish Society.

Football Matches
One thing that remains constant, wherever we go, is our passion for football! We regularly organise to watch international football matches with other student societies at King's- friendship wins! We also take part in actual football tournaments organised in collaboration with other King's societies.

Collaborations with the Yunus Emre Institute
The KCL Turkish Society hosts collaborative events with the 'Yunus Emre Institute'- Turkey's cultural institute. We have hosted world renowned chefs such as Omur Akkor, and Musa Dagdeviren as part of the 'A Pinch of Anatolia' series.

Official Visits

Museums and Memorial Visits
The United Kingdom has several museums, memorials, and exhibitions that cater to anyone from any background. We try to strengthen the connection between the UK and Turkey through visiting locations of significance to both countries.

Society Dinners
Society dinners have become a Turkish Society tradition, with every year starting with the staple 'Welcome Dinner'. It's a wonderful chance for Turkish students to have a taste of home, and non-Turkish Students to experience rich Turkish cuisine.

Speaker Events
A firm believer in dialogue, the KCL Turkish Society tries to host as many high-profile speakers as possible, providing students an opportunity to connect with different speakers, and network.

Film Screenings
We believe Turkey has a lot to offer in terms of cinema, and look for opportunities to share excellent movies with any and all who are interested! Our movies are screened in Turkish with English subtitles, making it accessible for all.
